The Letter to the Church in Sardis

in his first official sermon from the pulpit, Justin Reed delivers a message taken from Revelation 3:1-6. In this passage, the Risen Christ challenges the church in ancient Sardis to "wake up". They had a reputation of being a lively church, but the Lord says flatly, 'You are dead." Their lifestyles did not match their reputation, nor their confession of faith. We, too, should examine our lives to see whether or not the way we are living matches up with our profession of faith.
